POTD: Magpul PRO 700 builds
Just before SHOT Show we reported about the new Magpul Pro 700 stock. You can read all the details here.
Magpul Industries just released a few new pictures of actual builds and they’re pretty good looking with some excellent specifications.
The top picture shows a Magpul 700 PRO stock with a Curtis Axiom .308, 16″ PROOF Research carbon barrel, Leupold Mark 6 scope in a Spuhr SR-3000 mount. The hush hush is a Surefire SOCOM762-RC2. Very nice, but I would prefer it in 6,5CM.
The other rifle, pictured below, is a BigHorn TL3 6.5CM with a 24″ PROOF Research Savage pre-fit barrel. A Leupold Mark 6 scope on top. It should be possible to remove the bolt even without having to fold the stock, but depending the position of your cheek riser you can also fold the stock for easier maintenance.
I am only a little bit disappointed they didn’t build a rifle in Olive Drab Green. I guess I have to build mine with a PROOF 6,5CM barrel, Spuhr mount and a Schmidt & Bender 5-25 PMII.
You can find the PRO 700 here, and feel free to discuss the $999.95 price tag as much as you want.
A bolt-action system like this won’t come cheap.
All pictures from Magpul.

Shows picture of .308 rifle: "UGH, it's not in 6.5CM"
OK. Shows picture of 6.5CM rifle: "UGH, it's not OD Green".
I, for one, think both rifles look fantastic.
I'll wait for the Sport models to hit the shelves. They are supposed to be around 650.
