Hyve Technologies Aluminum Grip Safety for Springfield Armory XDS Pistols
Hyve Technologies makes a replacement aluminum grip safety for Springfield Armory XDS pistols. Why do you need to replace the grip safety? I was looking for the answer on the company’s website and the only reason that I could find is to be able to have color options.
Possibly, the different colors will make the custom builds look better especially with other small parts like trigger safeties and magazine extensions having the same color. The color options that are available now are black, blue, gray, OD green, purple and red. This replacement grip safety also has a perforated profile which should also be done for aesthetical purposes only. The MSRP of this product is $24.99 regardless of the chosen color.
I have heard multiple times people saying that they like this or that model of Springfield Armory pistols but they wish there was no grip safety. Some people even pin it in place or tape it. That being said, I think it could be a good aftermarket product if someone made a grip safety replacement part which would stay pressed all the time and won’t protrude from the backstrap. I am pretty sure that it won’t be too big of a challenge to design such part. Of course, you can get a different pistol, but for those who really like the SA pistols but are not a big fan of the grip safety, such product could have a value.

Springfield XD series pistol's are still garbage.
I have an XD. I like it. It's shot well for me. I do have to keep it clean, but then, I have to keep every other pistol I own clean, so I don't consider that a fault. I like the grip safety. I also think that color co-coordinating guns is kind of silly, but that's my opinion and worth what you paid for it.
