SHOT show always boasts a wide assortment of new gear, with 2018 being no exception.  Visiting the Nighthawk booth a particular pistol stood out with its new collaboration between Nighthawk, Hillbilly 223, and Agency Arms. These companies came together to produce the Agent 2. The Agent 1 was Agency’s first collaboration with Nighthawk Custom Firearms announced last year at the NRA Annual Meeting in 2017. A conservative amount of only 50 units were made as they were a limited edition production. The Agent 1 is a 1911 in a Commander size frame and chambered in 9mm.

Due to the successful demand, Agency paired with Nighthawk for a second collaboration appropriately named the Agent 2. 

New Agent 2 for SHOT 2018.

The Agent 2 has a Government sized frame and sports a lightened recon slide. A lightening cut was also done to the 1913 rail for further weight reduction.

Not only is the trigger very aesthetically rendered, after gauging the trigger it consistently produces an average trigger pull weight of 4 pounds. Note that this was a hasty test with a commercial trigger gauge on the show floor, and might not be accurate.

Agency Arm’s added lightening cuts to the slide of the Agent 2 much like many of the slides they do on Glocks and M&Ps.

The rear sight is a Heinie ledge black rear sight matched with a crisp, red Nighthawk fiber optic front sight. 

Aesthetically the Agent 2 sets itself apart with a flush cut semi-crowned barrel, RailScales G10 grips, and Agency cocking creations on the front and the rear. 

While providing a very modern look, the G10 grips also added very assertive and tactile grip for added control.

Agency is known for pistols with great appearance but truly meeting form with function by ensuring their customizations truly have a practical and applicable use. This is very apparent in the tactical magazine release that is oriented at an angle toward the rear in an effort to provide better ergonomics for users with smaller hands.

Lightening cuts also can be attributed to significantly improving both two-handed or single-handed manipulation of the slide with greater dexterity.

Unlike the Agent 1, the new Agent 2 will be available in 9mm and .45 APC. While toting a hefty MSRP of $4495, customers will continuously be able to purchase an Agent 2 from their dealer and it will not be a limited run.
