[SHOT 2018] Vortex Optics Crossfire – Strike Eagle – Viper HD

    Vortex optics crossfire

The Vortex Optics Crossfire debuted last month with the promise of performance, battery life and an unbeatable pricpoint. And seeing how swamped the red dot section of their 2018 SHOT Show booth was, people seem to be pretty excited. A cursory overview for pictures and a function check revealed the Crossfire to be a stout red dot optic for range use, training as well as home defense. At about $200, look to see the Crossfire reddot moving quickly from dealers shelves.

We also got to spend some time with Vortex’s addition to the Vioer HD line – specifically a series of spotting scopes with MSRP’s that are affordable to most shooters. Due to lighting and line of sight issues, the floor of SHOT is a terrible place to test optics, but from what I can tell, the Viper HD glass was clear and bright.

Lastly, the Strike Eagle line added two models, which true to their heritage, are both affordable and fully functional. Vortex Optics does a great job of providing sighting solutions to a broad range of shooters and budgets.
