These new .22 rounds from CCI are good for your gun and the environment.

Not only do these look like rounds that Early Cuyler would be “prouder ‘n hell” to shoot with, they will leave one’s firearm and range unsullied by lead fouling. CCI’s 22 Long Rifle Patriot Pack is a 300-round box of coated .22lr’s with red, white and blue coating. CCI continues to build on their polymer coated .22lr line. Relatively new, TFB’s own Hryachya H has previously reported on these rounds’ introduction as a Christmas-themed pack. I have shot many polymer coated bullets, and while there is sometimes a few flakes of polymer here or there left in the firearm, there is a marked decrease in lead fouling. This author has personally previously only seen these bullets in centerfire rounds. Being that .22lr’s are often subjected to very high volumes of fire and can incur nasty lead fouling as a result, this author is excited to see these new rounds and will be sure to give them a try. It will be interesting to see how clean these really do run.

the unprimed condition is due to this being a trade show example.

Also seen at the Vista Outdoor booth was a rather large table showcasing the .224 Valkyrie, which is of course the new ballistic hotness. Besides the 90gr Sierra Matching, Federal was also showing off loads in 90gr Softpoint and 60gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. Employees had reportedly successfully harvested whitetail with good results with the 90gr softpoint(although this author personally thinks it’d be far for apropos for pronghorn) as well with as the varmint load on coyotes. Being that Federal was so thorough and successful in platforms and cartridge availability, it’s going to be interesting to see all the new loads coming out this year.

Look for CCI’s Patriot pack at retailers soon.

Very much looking forward to some cleaner .22lr ammo. I HATE cleaning my suppressors! Especially my 22 cans! I've has some decent results with the current American Eagle 22lr suppressor ammo. It definitely fouls my can much less than ANY other 22lr ammo.
