Mauser Introduces New M18 Rifle

    Mauser M18

In time for the 2018 SHOT Show, Mauser announced a new bolt action rifle for the USA called the M18. The M18 is designed to be a good balance between a rugged field rifle and your wallet’s limited depths.

The M18, nicknamed the Volkswaffe by the company, has a black synthetic stock with soft inlays in the pistol grip area and forearm for increased comfort and control during recoil. The rear of the stock opens with out the need for tools. This allows you to store items like a bore snake and small bottle of oil. For a weekend at hunting camp, this could be useful.

A cold hammer forged barrel is used on these rifles. Standard calibers have 22″ barrels while the magnum calibers as longer at 24.4″. The company provides a sub-MOA guarantee with each gun. Mauser uses a trigger that is user adjustable so you can get the exact pull weight you want.

Masuer states that the M18 will initially be available in .243 Win, .270 Win, .308 Win, 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag. The company also expects to chamber a rifle for the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, but it does not have an exact time frame for its release date. All models feed from a five round detachable magazine. The MSRP will be $699.
