Tandemkross Announced Safety Thumb Ledge for Ruger Mk IV 22/45
Tandemkross announced a new safety ledge for your Ruger Mk IV 22/45 pistol called the Cornerstone. The Cornerstone is an oversized thumb safety that is designed like a 1911-style safety. This means it will generally match the 22/45 in both looks and feel.
According to the company, the Cornerstone Safety Ledge helps to do three things:
- encourages more consistent hand placement on the grip of the pistol,
- enhances control of the pistol – especially during rapid fire -, and
- improves the accuracy of the Mk IV pistol through the improved grip and control.
The Cornerstone Safety Ledge does not alter any of the internal workings of the gun. It does, however, change the ambidextrous nature of the safety system.
According to the company, the safety lever on the right side of the frame pinched the hands of some shooters. To compensate for that, Tandemkross made the Cornerstone Safety Ledge non-ambidextrous. In other words, the safety lever is on the left side of the gun only.
According to the company, this safety will only work on the Mk IV 22/45 pistols. This includes the Mk IV 22/45 LITE but not other models like the Mk IV Tactical. The Cornerstone has a suggested retail price of $59.99. It can be purchased in one of two colors: red or black. Both colors are in production now.

I like the safety, but I NEED a bolt release.
