Meopta has a new night vision device that can be used as a monocular or in combination with a rifle scope. Called the MeoNight 1.1, the unit is a non-magnifying optic (1x) but can be used with a 3x magnifying booster.

To use with a scope, the MeoNight is located in front of the scope with the company’s quick release mount. Additionally, it can be mounted directly onto the objective of the scope with an adaptor. Meopta offers adaptors for 42mm, 50mm and 56mm objective lenses.

The unit has an external brightness control that is easy to use when operating the MeoNight as a monocular. When mounted with a scope, you can use the included remote control cable. It can be affixed to the rifle’s stock for easy access without moving your hands off of the gun.

According to the company, you can identify targets to 600 meters. The unit is waterproof to 2 meters for up to 2 hours. Additionally, it has a recoil resistance of 500 g. The MeoNight 1.1 has an operating temperature of -40˚ F to 140˚ F.

There is an auto shutoff circuit that will turn off the unit at one hour. A single CR123 will run the optic for up to 50 hours.
