Lucid Optics announced the company would soon be offering a new binocular. According to the company, it sought to make a set of high quality binocular that is light in weight and not abusive to the wallet. The result is the 10×40 B-10.
The B-10 binocular is relatively slim and fairly light at 24 ounces. Lucid Optics uses a glass filled polymer frame that is reinforced with aluminum at all of the stress points. The unit is waterproof and fog proof. Lucid Optics uses ED Fluoride lenses that it states offers excellent clarity.
The B-10 has twist up eyecups, a padded neck strap and a neoprene cover. Also, the binocular comes with a waterproof hard carrying case.
As a professional photographer, I know that good lenses are the best investment I can make in gear. The same holds true in firearms optics – be it a scope or a binocular. The B-10 binoculars have a suggested retail price of $549. While that may sound like a lot when compared to the inexpensive stuff found in Walmart or Dick’s, you really do get what you pay for in glass. In fact, the company states that the B-10 is so good, it is unfair to compare these binoculars to any other brand at this price point.
