Mission First Tactical (aka MFT) recently announced it was now offering a new drop in handguard replacement for the AR style rifle. The new handguard, called the TP15MRS is a polymer, two piece design that snaps right into place onto any standard AR with a front sight tower and delta ring assembly.

The new handguard system is designed for carbine length gas systems. It has Magpul M-LOK attachment slots on the top, bottom and sides. There is a single QD socket on the left side of the handguard. This allows for the addition of a sling in a setup that is most likely to work best for right handed shooters. Left handed shooters are out of luck and have to purchase an M-LOK QD plate if they want to run this handguard with a socket on the right side of the rifle.

Made of a proprietary polymer, MFT claims the handguard has excellent heat and impact resistance. Overall, it is nearly 9″ long and 2″ wide. It weighs 4.5 ounces. Currently, these are offered in two colors: black and dark scorched earth.

According to MFT, the suggested retail price is $39.99 with a minimum advertised price of $34.99. These units are made in the United States of America and carry a lifetime warranty.
