Wilson Combat Tactical Hunter Rifle Now Available in 6mm Creedmoor

Wilson Combat has announced that they are now offering the Tactical Hunter AR-10 style rifles chambered in 6mm Creedmoor. The rifles are offered with 20″ stainless steel (416R) button rifled and fluted barrels with 1:8 twist rate. They come in two color options: black or green.

The overall length of these rifles is 37″. They feature a rifle length gas system with SLR Rifleworks adjustable gas block. The rifles also come with a BCM charging handle and pistol grip, Wilson Combat Super-Stoc buttstock and Wilson Combat TTU (Tactical Trigger Unit). Some of the other features of the Tactical Hunter rifles are shown in the image below.

Being necked down from the popular 6.5mm Creedmoor, the 6mm Creedmoor makes a good AR-10 long range cartridge. The difference from the .243 Winchester is the possibility to load bullet with longer ogives (or without seating the bullets deep into the case) and still fitting the .308 Win overall length and AR-10 magazines/magazine wells due to shorter case. The 6mm Creedmoor case is 1/8″ shorter than .243 Winchester case. The relation of two cartridges is similar to that of 6.5mm Creedmoor and .260 Remington. You can find the Sierra Bullets ballistic data of this cartridge by clicking here.

The Tactical Hunter rifles chambered in 6mm CM are available on Wilson Combat’s website at an MSRP of  $3195.
