Smith & Wesson Announces New M&P10 Sport Rifle in .308 Win
Why not start with the price? At 1,049 USD this is a great price for an AR10 and a product I probably wouldn’t like to see or hear about if I was competitor.
Sure, a lot of the polymer furniture isn’t of the highest and coolest factor, but that’s something we chose on an individual basis at a later stage anyway?
It’s funny that S&W call it “Sports”, then puts “Purpose” as “Home Protection and Hunting”.

What do you think of the package? Missing anything? A great deal or still too expensive?

8 pounds, 16 inch barrel? Meh.
With some of the featherweight AR-15 builds nowadays, what I would like to see is a featherweight AR-10 with a 20 inch barrel in .243 or 6.5mm for a reasonable price.
Maybe there's no demand for something like that...
Even for MSRP it's a nice value,
but for the life of me, I can't find any differences between this and the older 18" version.
Aside from the shorter, thicker looking barrel an muzzle device of course.
How come the 18" is more than $600 more expensive?
Why the huge difference?
