Kalashnikov Concern has announced the launch of Kalashnikov branded gun care products. They’ve introduced several lubricants as well as a rust remover, degreaser, and cold bluing compound. In the press release, they say that all the new products are tested in their own laboratories.

Kalashnikov Concern's Lubricants

There are three types of new lubricants. One of them is a CLP (cleaner, lubricant, preservative). The second one is advertised as a grease for the moving parts of the firearms and the third product is a ceramic grease. The latter is safe to be applied not only on metal parts but also on wood, rubber, leather, various coatings and also on inlaid materials such as gold, silver and bones. Depending on the size and type, the price for these lubricants ranges from $4 to $8 (considering that 1 dollar is equal to 57.5 rubles).

L-R: degreaser, rust remover, cold blue

The new Kalashnikov cold bluing compound is priced at $10.25 for a 40ml bottle. The degreaser is said to be safe to use on optics lenses and electrical devices, too. According to Kalashnikov Concern, the rust remover doesn’t leave any marks on the metal parts.

It would be interesting to see how these new Kalashnikov products will perform compared to proven brands like Break Free, Ballistol, Birchwood Casey etc.

As far as I understand these kinds of products are not a subject of the import ban and can be purchased online.

@YouGetTheReference Funny thing is, that back in army days we actually used blank loaded AK muzzle blasts to blow dust off of our uniforms during field days :)

They really do put some extreme temperature ratings on that lubricant and it should warrant further testing by TFB or a third party.

    -40°c (-40°F) to +750°c (1382°F)
