Phase 5 Weapons Systems Inc recently announced a new addition to its catalog. Called the Universal Mini Stock, the fixed length buttstock works with milspec sized buffer tubes and has a minimalist design.

The Universal Mini Stock is machined from a billet of 6061-T6 aluminum and weighs only 5.7 ounces. It has a black type III, class 2 hard coat anodized finish and comes with the two set screws and hex key you will need to install it.

The stock does not have QD sockets, waterproof storage compartments or a monopod. The Universal Mini Stock does have a hex pattern on the rear to provide a textured surface to help anchor it to your shoulder. It is designed to be a minimalist piece of gear: strong, lightweight and taking up only the space that’s absolutely necessary.  The suggested retail price is $69.99.

Phase 5 Weapon Systems makes a wide range of AR products. For a time, the company manufactured complete firearms for sale. However, those guns no longer appear on the company’s website. However, it does sell a broad variety of buffer tubes, uppers and other parts needed for customizing or completely building your AR-15. I’ve used some of their components in the past, and I found them to be good quality parts.
