Lapua Team member Raine Peltokoski talks about practical rifle shooting
Mr. Raine Peltokoski from Finland is a three-time IPSC European Rifle Champion and has been one of the top shooters in practical competitions for decades. This includes shotgun and handgun.
This list gives you an idea of his success.
Below: To the best of my knowledge the rifle is an ADC (Italy) AR-15 with a 20″ barrel and Swarovski Z6i. Raine in blue in case you wonder. It looks like ADC did a “presentation grade” (to steal a term from JP Rifles) for the handguard.
Raine in the kneeling shooting position. This is a very solid and stable position if you practice it right.
Lapua Team member Raine Peltokoski shares his thoughts on IPSC (practical) shooting and why he chooses Lapua ammunition. He is a really good off-hand shooter, without any real weak points altough there are some junior (Finnish) shooters now chasing him.
Raine is for instance using Lapua 51 grs HPCE bullets in .223 Rem., Lapua brass and with Vihtavuori N133. For long range and steel he uses the .223 Rem. 69 grs. Scenar and 55 grs factory ammuntion.
Check out the latest video with Raine, looks like he is getting ready for the World Shoot in Russia summer of 2017. There are lots of tips and tricks to pick up in this video.
Bonus video below, more stages from the European Rifle Championships in Hungary 2015, which he won.

Who will stand as a winner at the IPSC Rifle World Shoot in Russia in a few months? No one knows, but it will be exciting to see.
Ex-Arctic Ranger. Competitive practical shooter and hunter with a European focus. Always ready to increase my collection of modern semi-automatics, optics, thermals and suppressors. TCCC Certified. Occasionaly seen in a 6x6 Bug Out Vehicle, always with a big smile.
