Telescoping stocks designed to fit underneath a user’s helmet visor are very popular among a number of European Law Enforcement forces, and have been for some time now. Especially prevalent are Swiss response teams in Zürich, which have been in the news lately due to the violence at a mosque earlier last week. Police forces are installing these Visor profile stocks on MP5s, Sig 551s, and interestingly MP7s as well.

The examples we have of the MP7 are in fact from Germany’s SEK teams, and not with Zürich response teams. The MP7 stock is the ARS stock by Fab Defense, and can be purchased on a Swiss website specializing in LE products.

ARS Stock Specifications-

In addition to the ARS stock, Zürich officers are also using the popular after market visor stock from Brügger & Thomet AG, made for the companies firearms, but more relevantly for Heckler & Koch stock systems as well. A number of MP5s have the telescoping visor accommodating stock fitted to them.

But a surprising amount of 5.56x45mm Swiss Arms SG 551s as well. Previously these stocks have been exclusively for submachine gun armed response teams however, due to the escalation of criminal and terrorist tactics in Europe LE forces must be trying to compensate to the threat and bringing in rifles to supplement the submachine guns. I’m slightly confused about which exact version is on the SG 551 though, and I assume it is B&Ts other product that they make for their own rifles and submachine guns, because a Swiss Arms SG 551 has a completely different mounting set up than H&K.
