Gunstruction, the basically build your dream rifle application, has announced that their 4th major update is now pending approvals by the various application stores with Apple and Android. The “4.0” update is a substantial overhaul, adding in a new platform for users to customize – the Remington 700.

The Remington 700 platform inclusion is not the only update. There will be a large “parts drop” for the standard semi-auto platforms, over 170 parts will be added. For those looking to dress up their builds, 2 new photo mode rooms have been added.

I, for one, am happy to see the expansion of the “build your dream” apps (which originally started with the “Pimp my Gun” app) to start including bolt-action rifles. As the market starts to solidify on solid an interchangeable platforms, this gives shooters and shoppers the ability to see their dreams prior to putting down some hard-earned money.

Gunstruction has plans to continue their expansion in their existing platforms and with more to come. Their AR-15 and LR-308 parts selections are particularly robust. It will be fun to see how many Remington 700 action, barrel, and chassis manufacturers will opt-in to the building application.

The Version 4.0 will either be just released or coming in a few days at the time of this publishing.
