Normally, I’d start an article bemoaning the continued chitzy-ness of products, but alas I am going full ‘moto on the latest offering from Apex Tactical Specialties. Dubbed the “Freedom Edition”, Apex’s new triggers are anodized and laser engraved with Old Glory in all her glory.

The triggers Apex’s standard offering, just with some red anodizing and a bit of beer and mullet-inspired design to create a fully ‘Murica worthy offering. While the aesthetics are striking, the triggers are full-blown upgrade on the standard offerings from Smith & Wesson. Two versions are available, one for the full-size handguns and one for the pint-sized Shield.

Retail for the kits is right around $175, with the Shield version slightly more expensive. Supplies of each are limited, so if your need for moto is strong; act quickly.

– Lowers trigger weight to between 4.0 and 5.0 lbs (approximately)
– Smooth uptake and reset
– Total trigger travel similar to most factory 1911 type pistols
– Center mounted pivoting safety maintains factory safety values
– Works with all Smith & Wesson M&P pistols in centerfire calibers (excluding the Shield)
– Requires use of sear housing block designed for large size sear plunger and spring (current production as of June 2011)
