Strike Industries Tool-Less Slide Plate for Glock

If you have ever detail stripped a Glock slide you know that removing the slide cover plate requires two, sometimes three or even four hands. Strike Industries has come up with a tool-less slide plate that allows you to remove the plate with one hand, simplifying cleaning and maintenance of the slide.

Made from aluminum and anodized in blue, gray, red and black you can also spice up the appearance of your Glock a bit. Strike also offers the slide plate with two different button styles depending on your taste. Sadly Strike is not currently offering the slide plate for the Glock 42 or 43, just the Glock 17 through 39.

Some may have concern that the aluminum plate is may increase wear on what Glock calls the spring loaded bearing, the polymer tip for the extractor spring. During the Glock Armorers course I took the instructor made sure to talk about some failures that he had seen as a result of the slide plate no longer being polymer. I haven’t seen any failures first hand and have my doubts as to how much of an issue, if at all, the wear might be. I am sure that as long as you inspect the poly parts frequently it would be just fine.

The MSRP of the tool-less slide plate ranges from $21.95 to $24.95 depending on what button you choose. You can learn more about the slide plate by checking out Strike Industries web site here.
