IWI US Now Shipping Galil ACE CAP39-II, Fixed Full Auto Issue

    Galil ACE GAP 39-II

IWI US announced the company is now shipping the new Galil ACE CAP39-II pistol. The first pistols are being shipped to owners of the original CAP39 handguns followed by wholesale distributors. Complete Galil ACE rifles should begin shipping in the next few weeks. Within the next 60 days, the company also expects to begin shipping the CAP39-II pistols with the arm brace.

For those not familiar with the case, IWI US undertook a voluntary recall of all Galil ACE CAP39 pistols when the company realized the receivers used had three pin holes that would allow the installation of a full auto fire control group. Since this would likely cause the pistols to be classified as a National Firearms Act (NFA) item, the company recalled the guns in late 2015.

The new GAP39-II pistols use a two pin fire control group that eliminates the potential NFA issue.

The Galil ACE pistol is based on the original Galil assault rifle that was inspired by the AK and Valmet RK 62 platforms. The receivers are milled steel with a reciprocating charging handle on the left side of the gun.

The guns are chambered in 7.62×39 and use standard AK-pattern magazines. These ship with a Magpul MOE AK magazine. Guns have adjustable sights with a front tritium post. Additionally, the top of the receiver has a Picatinny rail for the addition of an optic.

IWI US uses a cold hammer forged 8.3″ barrel that is chrome lined. The MSRP is $1,749.
