ZEV Technologies, a Glock customization shop, had a lot of new things on display for 2016. The first thing I took a look at were their new stainless steel slides in a “Prize Fighter” and “Hex” cut. I really liked the feel of the Hex cut, as it gave more purchase on the slide for charging. They also now offer slides for gen 3 and 4 Glocks.
As far as their barrels went, they are now threading 9×19 barrels in-house. They also have a new “Pro” barrel that is threaded but has a normal barrel profile for lower cost, as opposed to their dimpled or fluted barrels. They have a new grey finish for their barrels as well.
ZEV has been very forward thinking in the past as far as mounting optics on the slide, and there are some new things in that arena for this year as well. Two new coverplates were seen: a new aluminum coverplate and a very neat carbon fiber prototype. They also have a patented slide cut and mount for the Leupold DeltaPoint that features a miniature rear sight built in to co-witness with the front sight. A new dimpled aluminum backplate also looked very good on the Glock.
Also new this year are a +5 capacity basepad for Magpul GL9 PMAGs and one for factory Glock mags as well.
Thanks to ZEV Technologies for their time!
