Kinetic Development Group Releases SIDELOK MRO Mount

The trail of accessories for Trijicon’s hit Miniature Rifle Optic continues to grow. This time to the fore is Kinetic Development Group (KDG) with their innovating SIDELOK rail mounting technologies. The MRO mount expands the line from its previous focus on Aimpoint Optics. Previously, there were two models, one for the micro series of red-dots and the other for the PRO/Comp series of optics.

In short, SIDELOK is a spring-powered quick locking system offered for optics compatible with standard picatinny rail systems. When clamping to a rail, it uses a toggle to sense when attached to the rail, which releases the internal clamping mechanism. To remove, push the toggle and the SIDELOK will release with fuss.

The new MRO SIDELOK is currently only available in a lower 1/3 co-witness height (or .88″ from the top of the picatinny rail to the top of the mount. Width is 1.1″ and length at 2 1/4 inches. Weight is a can 2.9 ounces and Kinetic reports total weight of the optic and mount is 7 ounces, or less than 1/2 a lbs.

Rainier Arms has the exclusive rights to the initial production run. Retail is pegged at $139, but the first run is only $119.95. When the second run is complete, mounts can be picked up directly from Kinetic.

Author’s note, KDG did give me a SIDELOK for an Aimpoint PRO/Comp series optic previously. Review will come when I can get my hands on an Aimpoint!
