New Oakley LIGHT ASSAULT BOOT
Recently Oakley released the new “Light Assault Boot” in black leather. As most of you know we keep track of new Oakley products and I for one am glad. I’ve always been impressed with the quality of Oakley products and especially eyewear after having a pair of Oakley glasses deflect a .22 round off the left lens. Oakley article
This new Light Assault Boot is no exception as far as quality, style and comfort. When these boots arrived I started wearing them and I’ve worn them everyday since. What impressed me right away was the weight or rather the lack of it. This boot only weighs 15.3 ounces! That said you can really tell how light they are when you first take them out of the box and wear them a few minutes.
The boot is comfortable right out of the box and don’t require a break-in period. The boots have an EVA insole which adds to the comfort. These can also be removed or replaced in the unlikely event they need it. This is a 6 inch boot with a heavy elastic piece at the top rear of the boot to provide some give when sitting or driving a car for long periods. There is also extra leather on the toe and heel of the boot to provide better wear over time. This would make an excellent duty boot for police officers, ambulance personnel, firemen and other first responders. As far as I’m concerned they will work well for hunting or just daily wear for those who just like wearing a quality boot.
The sole of the boot has a pattern that was designed to self-clean and not allow debris to stay in the tread. It’s also a non-slip material that won’t slide while walking on wet surfaces. Yes I’ve tried them out!
One other feature to note is this type of leather will take a very good military shine which is an important consideration for first responders who are expected to keep their boots shined and uniform neat.
I fully expect these boots to last me for years and I have no reservation recommending them to others. I did some checking on cost and the MSRP is $169.00. The lowest street price I found was $130.00. These boots are part of the Standard Issue Oakley website. Just click the link at the bottom of the article to go to the SI website.
The Light Assault Boot is also available in rough out suede in 6 inch or 8 inch height.

Sorry to say it but they do look cheap, like 100% Pleather, kind of cheap. And yes, they do have a wal mart look to them.
So if you kick someone with them, you get charged with light assault and battery?
