Billy Lumbar Packs from Browning

I tend to be somewhat of a pack collector. A buddy of mine swears by “lumbar” style packs (I’m more of a traditional “hang on the shoulders” pack guy). When I saw this press release in our queue, I was definitely intrigued by a number of the features. They are configured more for hunting (which is the loose tie into TFB).

The Billy packs feature the revolutionary Baumshell fabric that is half the weight and twice the strength of traditional pack cloths. Built to be “whisper quiet” for state of the art sound suppression. Baumshell™ fabric is also water resistant, and the packs are constructed with reinforced stitching for years of hunting.

The new Hypo-Sonic closure located on the waist belt storage pocket of the Billy Packs is water resistant and virtually silent thanks to its welded design. This toothless closure allows hunters to quietly access gear when game is close. The asymmetrical waist belt design allows for a larger, easier to access pocket.

To help keep gear organized and accessible, the Billy packs use the new hunter specific organization system. This design has product call-outs to keep gear separated and ready to use.

Does anyone have experience with Browning’s packs? I personally don’t, but these list a few features I’d definitely like to put some field time on…
