Federal Premium introduced a new .223 Rem load at the 2015 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV last month. The new loading is in the Vital-Shok line and uses the company’s Trophy Bonded Tip bullet.

The Trophy Bonded Tip bullet is based on the company’s Trophy Bonded Bear Claw design. According to Federal, the bullet uses a neon-colored polymer tip with a boat tail design to improve accuracy and flatten the trajectory. The company states the bullet is designed for “optimum expansion at any range,” and retains more than 90% of its weight.

These new loads should be shipping soon (if they aren’t already) and will carry a suggested retail price of $26.95 for a box of 20 rounds.
