Self Illuminating Fiber-Optics with TruGlo TFX

We’ve written about TruGlo’s TFO sights before. At SHOT this year, they were showing off the next generation named the TFX.

To recap, TFO is a patented combination of Tritium and Fiber-Optics, basically keeping the Fiber-Optic illuminated even in low-light situations. The TFX is the “eXtreme” version… 🙂 What they have done is encapsulate the TFO technology in a nearly indestructible container that is impervious to oils, chemicals, cleaning solvents and ultra-sonic cleaning processes. The sights are more compact than the previous iteration, and have been modified to have a longer sight radius. The have also added a high visibility white ring around the front fiber.

I was pretty impressed with the brightness, and how easy the sights were to pick up. They also had a dark box where you could demo the sights in low light.
