Winchester Deer Season Ammo
Winchester Ammunition will introduce a new line of hunting ammo in 2015 called Deer Season XP. As the name suggests, Winchester designed this ammunition specifically for hunting deer.
The bullet used is a polymer tipped hollow point. According to the company, the tip is much larger than what is used in other loads from Winchester. The purpose of a larger tip is for more rapid and wider expansion than bullets with smaller polymer tips.
Winchester expects the ammo to sell around $25/box in the stores. It will be available in the following calibers:
- .243 Win
- .270 Win
- .270 WSM
- 7mm Rem Mag
- .308 Win
- .30-06 Sprg
- .300 Win Mag
- .300 WSM

GIBE .38-55 PLS.
The larger polymer tip is intriguing, but I'd like to see some testing to verify that it creates greater expansion than similar ballistic tip bullets.
