While some are complaining about the softening of sales in the gun industry, a popular gun distributor is expanding. Davidson’s announced the company is opening a distribution center in North Carolina. Scheduled for a summer 2015 opening, the new center is expected to help lower shipping expenses and shorten delivery time to customers on the east coast.
The new center will be located in Greensboro, which is only about a 45 minute drive from Ruger’s new Mayodan facility.
Davidson’s is pleased to announce the opening of an east coast distribution center scheduled for the summer of 2015. The opening is a result of the company’s significant growth in revenues and its customer base over the last several years.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped us achieve the growth that makes this expansion possible.” stated Bryan Tucker, Davidson’s CEO. “Our employees work hard to deliver world class service and form a great, great team of which I am extremely proud. Their efforts along with the great support shown to us by both our vendors and customers have helped make us very optimistic about the company’s future.”
The new facility located in Greensboro, NC will significantly lower Davidson’s overall shipping expenses while providing Davidson’s eastern customers quicker deliveries. In addition to handling the inventory and shipments for the east, the facility will also serve as the new home for the company’s marketing department, which has been located in Greensboro since 2007.
Davidson’s corporate headquarters and western U.S. warehousing operations will remain in Prescott, AZ. The Arizona location will also continue to serve as the home to Davidson’s finance, general administrative, sales, and purchasing functions.
