Ammo Prices: 06/27/2014
Week 14!

As many of us have noted, ammo prices are pretty stable overall. .22LR is still overpriced. .380 ACP is actually trending down. And most dealers are pretty close in price to one another for a given caliber and lot size. There are some vendors that have generally lower prices and some that have generally higher prices (but our data does not account for relative quality, nor for shipping). Despite a number of events involving the inappropriate use of firearms, people are not running out and stockpiling (at least not to the point that we are seeing any supply/demand issues)–and that even includes recent statements by elected officials rattling the “gun control” saber again.
If you enjoy shooting as I would surmise many of us here do, buy ammo when it is cheap and plentiful. Not just when there is fear of low supply. And with all that extra ammo you are buying, take a family member (or friend) out to the range and help pass on good skills and stewardship related to that part of our national heritage.
We do appreciate the support and constructive comments and will continue this article series as long as it is productive.

I am tired of these articles I KNOW for a fact there is a supply shortage meaning GUN SHOPS and yes even Walmart are not getting inventories at a regular basis, if at all!
Not only is ammo hard to come by even with limits on how many you can buy or in Walmart, Dick's, Gander Mountain, etc. with the need of a C.C.W. to even purchase ammo; BUT reloading components are hard to come by! Even manufactures like Georgia Arms post messages of them being behind on their orders due to a COMPONENTS SHORTAGE!
Let's face it just like the illegals at the border, Fast and Furious, and the invasion of ISIS in Iraq, the ammo shortage is co-ordinated with the government! the administration gets what it wants an ammo shortage even to the point of burning or getting rid of surplus ammo, selling ammo to rebels (Al Qaeda), and even supplying every DHS and government ageny with ammo in a planned shell game of hiding actual ammo purchases! The ammo companies love it because there is an artificial shortage due to defense contracts and purchases which they love to fill the orders on! The gun magazines will publish bogus numbers because their advertisers will be upset if they reported the truth, and people buy the propaganda and anyone who thinks outside the box is a conspiracy theorist!
Question, why is it that shotgun shells were never hard to get during the shortage, or overpriced? If I was hoarding that's what I would stock pile on for 2 reasons they are the most versatile round in what they can harvest and MOST people do not reload them!
How come there was not a magazine shortage?
Buying at these over inflated prices will create a new normal!
Yeah, I'm still waiting for MallWart to have .22LR on the shelf for more than a few hours per week.
