TFB Site Problems. Fixed?

Over the past couple of weeks we have had significant problems serving up the TFB homepage. Many readers have reported that they had not seen any new blog posts for 1 or even 2 weeks, and wanted to know if we were still operating. If anything, thanks to Nathan’s coverage of the NRA ’14 meeting, we have had far more blog posts in the past week than normal.

The sysadmin and myself have been trying to resolve this problem. TFB is a high traffic website so we have a number of page caching layers to ensure traffic spikes don’t take the server down. One of these layers messed up and reported to some web browsers that there were no changes since they last visited, so the browsers did not bother updating the page unless explicitly refreshed by the user.

We hope this is sorted now. Unfortunately anyone who is still having this problem is not going to see this blog post …

If you have been having this problem, and it is now fixed, please let me know how long this has been happening in the comments below. If you are still experiencing this on one device/browser also let us know (first do a page refresh).

UPDATE: If you are still having problems, click here and see if the homepage update.
