The Rimfire Report: Did the U.S. Military Sleep on the American-180?
Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and all of the different types of guns, ammo, history, and shooting sports that this niche corner of the industry entails. A couple of years back I had the extremely rare opportunity to shoot one of my “grail guns” the American-180 .22LR submachine gun. This is a firearm I’ve been fascinated with for a long time, and it’s also one that’s always generated a lot of discussion in the firearm world for its extremely narrow focus on marketing directly to police agencies. Wouldn’t this relatively inexpensive, lightweight, small-caliber, machine gun, make the perfect weapon for the American soldier? Today we’re going to go through a bit of that discussion and take a look at both sides of the argument to see why perhaps the American-180 and other rimfire submachine guns like it just might not ever make practical sense on the battlefield.

Olympus Arms Vulcan "Zero Recoil AR-10" Review
In this video, I, James Reeves, give you my honest and unfiltered review of the Olympus Arms Vulcan AR with its innovative reciprocating barrel system. After two years of covering this gun at the SHOT Show, where it generated tons of excitement, it was finally time to put the Vulcan to the test. Spoiler alert: I was let down—big time. While the design is groundbreaking and promises reduced recoil, things went south quickly during my testing. At $6,800, this is a huge disappointment, and I’m here to give you the full story. This is simultaneously one of the most innovative and underwhelming rifles I’ve ever reviewed. Watch and decide for yourself if the Vulcan is worth the price.

TFB Review: P365 Romeo-X Compact Slide Assembly
A few weeks back I took my concealed carry pistol to the range for some much-needed practice. When I drew and acquired a sight picture, the only thing that went through my mind was “what the hell is that thing.” I had been shooting red dot sight-equipped pistols exclusively for months on end. In the time leading up to this practice trip, I had shot a few steel challenge matches, USPSA matches and took a course – all with red dot equipped pistols. The thing in my sight picture happened to be a steel sight post. Whether I liked it or not, the caveman tool sitting on the top deck of the slide turned out to be jarring.
