Total hidden protection for firearms and other valuables is a reality, using this 1300 lb secure 78”x 30”x 15” 10 gauge steel strongbox fitted with ¼” thick steel 140 lb. hinged doors.

Sophisticated Mul-T-Lock locking system, hydraulic gas-assist piston, and a strategically mounted maximum security hinge system carefully integrated for maximum strength and safe operation.

I don’t know how concealed a big steel boxe under a mattress is going to be, but this would be a good option for people running out of space in their apartment.

DIY gun storage

Sear and Hammer has posted how he now stores his firearms. In a Rubbermaid box!

Then I found a note on the Intertubes somewhere about a guy who had his house broken into. All of the guns in his closet were stolen but the one in the toolbox at the back of his workbench was left behind.

I do not think it is a bad idea, but if it was me I would bolt to box into the wall .. I suppose it would not be any safer but I would feel better about it.

This method is security by obscurity and while it may work, if someone did find it and want to steal it, they would have it in a few minutes.

Zanotti Take-Down Safe

AccurateShooter have written about the Zanotti Take-Down Safe. I think it is a great concept. I may get one myself!

 Products Zanottifinx580

Zanotti Armor offers safes that are ideal for gun owners who need to move frequently or who live in a location where it is difficult, if not impossible, to position a conventional safe. Zanotti safes arrive in three or four discrete shipping boxes. The safe is assembled by the owner, on site, in six steps.

The heaviest component is the door, weighing 110 pounds in the 16-gun ZAI safe, and 175 pounds in the largest 52-gun ZAIII model. Five safe models are offered, ranging from 350 to 925 pounds assembled weight, without interior. Zanotti safes are very popular with police, military personnel, and others whose jobs force them to re-locate often.

The safe can be assembled in under 30 minutes with no tools other than a hammer, and all you need is a hand dolly to move any component.
