Video of man defending home against men armed with AR-15

This is a pretty amazing video. Four men, one armed with an AR-15, attempt a daylight robbery in Tucson. In no time they are quickly running for their lives as the homeowner defends his home with a gun firing two or three shots into the drivers side of the getaway car’s windscreen.

LiveLeak reports:

The robbery happened in broad dayligh More..t at a home on West Vande Loo Street. All the action was caught by the homeowners outdoor surveillance system.

The victim was able to get back inside his house, close his door, semi barricade it, reach for a weapon that was easily accessible.

The homeowner shot at the suspects.
He even put a bullet through the windshield of the suspects car, which is also caught on camera.

No doubt that guy had at least some training. There is a discussion about this at ar15.com

Reader of the blog, Jay, reckons this may be related to the crime that has crossed the border. Phoenix, two hours drive further away from the Mexican border, is now the #2 city in world for kidnappings!

Big thanks to Jay for the links.

Airsoft and paintball popular with Indonesian criminals

20081230105740Enlus0158750712306346

Indonesian police officers display confiscated arms during press conference in Jakarta, Indonesia on 30 December 2008. Indonesia police seized dozens of arms, 8,5 kilos of heroin, 1,5 tons of marijuana, and 16,000 methamphetamine pils in several operations in the end of the year. Indonesia has tightened security in the country ahead of the Christmas day and New Year Eve. Indonesia was hit by a series of major terrorist acts from 2000 to 2005, including the Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005, hotel explosion in 2003 and the Australian embassy bombing in 2004, killing more than 250 people.

Those sneaky drug dealers! The police think they have confiscated guns and all they have is paintball markers and cheap airsoft toys. I bet we find that those 16k methamphetamine pills are cleverly disguised aspirin ;)

Photos of rapper’s illegal firearms

Federal agents said Monday that these guns were found in T.I.’s home. The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr.. was arrested over the weekend on federal weapons charges. He was ordered to remain in custody at least until Friday.

The machine guns: two mac-10’s and one MP5K, with suppressors:

High cap magazines seem to be in fashion

The firearm in the middle of the above photo appears to be a Calico 9mm LIBERTY III pistol with the distinctive 50 (or 100) round magazine that sits on top.

Guns leased for crimes in UK

The economist has a very interesting article about how criminals in the UK appear to lease firearms from each other for use in specific crimes. The same firearms are used in crimes all over the country!

Buy-To-Let Firearms Gun For Hire |

Some have suggested that would-be thugs are renting guns to use as fashion accessories. Daniel Silverstone of Portsmouth University is sceptical: “It would be cheaper to buy a replica,” he points out. “Someone who hired a real gun would probably intend to use it.” Renters must either be very short of cash or in need of a gun at very short notice, he reckons.
