Varmint Grenade bullet

These Varmint Grenade, made by Barnes are amazing. I am going to have to try them out in the near future :)

 Images Vmtgrenadeboxbullets

In the below video they fire one of them into a grape and the bullet completely disintegrates.

Barnes makes these in .243/6mm (62 gr), .22 (36 - 50 gr) and .204 (26 gr) caliber.

More on the bullet here.

Czech Army Reservist firing 12.7mm can’t stop flinching

This video made me laugh. Near the end they show this kid who can’t stop lifting his head as soon as he pulls the trigger. He of course completely misses the target.

New Advanced Armament suppressors

This video from SHOT Show 2007 shows Advanced Armament’s new suppressors. Including a quick release suppressor designed for the SCAR-L, the quietest .45 pistol suppressor (or so they claim), a new AR-15 and .22 suppressor.

Kitchen Gun

British humor! Notice that three shots produce two holes wide apart.

Historical video: This Is Your Police Department (1951)

This 25 minute video shows the operations and ceremonies of the Detroit Police Department. It is in the classic 1950’s style of cinematography. Worth a watch if law enforcement history interests you.

Picture 6-2

“He learned to use all types of firearms and spent many hours on target practice. Marksmenship might someday mean saving his own life and the lives of other people.”

Watch it here.

The truth about semi automatic firearms

I have this video downloaded on my computer so I can easily show it to anyone who does not understand the different between a AK-47 “assault” rifle and a semi auto hunting rifle. This video explains it much better than I could.

He then goes on to change a mini-14 “hunting” rifle into a scary “assault” rifle in seconds.

Armed Canadian has a well written post explaining the different to an anti-gunner.

AK’s 60th anniversary

A very interesting video about the AK’s 60th anniversary. I like the following quote from the video

“If it has given some countries the opportunity to gain freedom then it is a useful thing” - Kalishnikov

It covers the history and current events such as the Russian crackdown on foreign AK manufactures including the US clones.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Includes an interesting interview with an associate of the infamous arms dealer Viktor Bout.

East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club Machine gun shoot

Last week the East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club had a machine gun shoot. Here is a video of the shoot. It has all the usual suspects: MP5, AR-15, MAC-10 etc. as well as a comparision of a unsuppressed and a Gemtech G5 suppressed AR-15.

Izhevsk promotional videos

Izhevsk Mechanical Works is a Russian arms and vehicle manufacturer founded in 1807 by Tsar Alexander I.
Izhmash Factory
Below are some of their firearm promotional videos. I enjoy watching and reading military promotional material which are usually designed to entice the buyer to purchase millions of dollars worth of goods, rather than consumer marketing trying to entice you to try another type of tooth paste.

The first video is about the AK, Dragunov and Bizon firearms. The second is about the Saiga-12 shotguns. These video are also available on the Izhevsk website here.
