Franklin Armory Acquires Osprey Defense

    Franklin Armory

Franklin Armory has been making lots of waves so far in 2018. From the straight cut barreled Reformation debuted at the 2018 SHOT Show, their Binary Trigger for the CZ Scorpion Evo to their new TR-4 Binary Trigger with a full-auto option (for legal full-auto firearms).

What else does Franklin Armory have up their sleeve? They recently announced that they have acquired Osprey Defense in an all-cash deal for all of their remaining inventory and patents. Osprey Defense is known for their drop-in gas-piston AR-15 conversion kits. This isn’t the first time Osprey Defense has changed hands. Back in 2014, they were purchased by Ark Defense Group who then sold Osprey Defense to Franklin Armory after pitching them the opportunity at the 2018 SHOT Show. Acquiring other companies seems to be very common in the firearms industry, as I’m sure is the case in most industries in general. I wonder how many of these deals are made while on a crazy night out on the Vegas Strip after the SHOT Show winds down? Stay tuned for gas-piston Reformations!
