Released in March 2018, the Tempus ASPH is the first red dot sight manufactured by Leica. The company also claims to be the first to use an aspherical lens in a red dot sight. Here is how they describe it:

Leica is the first premium manufacturer to implement its red dot sight with asphere, guaranteeing an even crisper and more brilliant image of the illuminated dot, extremely high image quality as well as excellent viewing comfort.

Leica Tempus ASPH red dot sight is powered by one CR2032 battery. It is available either with 3.5 or 2 MOA dot sizes. The dot is also adjustable by 100 MOA both for windage and elevation. The adjustments are done in 1 MOA increments. There are also 12 dot brightness levels.

The manufacturer’s suggested operational temperature range is –13 to +122 °F (–25 to +50 °C). The dimensions of this Leica sight are as follows: length – 2.1″ (53.5mm), height – 1.35″ (34.5mm), width – 1.1″ (28mm). The overall weight of the sight (with the battery installed) is 1.41 oz. The dimensions of the lens are 21x25mm (about .825″ x .985″). The mounting footprint is identical to that of Docter red dot sights.

In order to change the battery, you need to insert the provided key into the slot over the battery compartment and the latter will come out.
