Lenny Magill, the owner and CEO of GlockStore.com, has recently published a video announcement addressing the new YouTube strict policies regarding firearm-related content. He has created a new website (GunVideo.com) to have a safe platform for hosting their videos and which may also become a video sharing platform for other content creators in the industry.

Glock Store’s YouTube channel publishes how-to videos concerning customization of Glock pistols, installation of various accessories etc. This type of content is potentially in danger of being deleted by YouTube due to their new policies. In order to save their content (which they have been creating since 2010) and keep it available for the viewers, they decided to create their own video hosting platform. GunVideo.com will start as a vault for the Glock Store videos, but as Lenny notes in the video announcement embedded below: “In a long shot of this thing, we’re going to have other content producers also release their products on GunVideo.com“.

Right now the GunVideo.com is accessible, however, they are still building it and it may take some time until it is fully functional. Nevertheless, it is possible to sign up to receive notifications of new videos. The registration is free.

Policies on content featuring firearms

YouTube prohibits certain kinds of content featuring firearms. Specifically, we don’t allow content that:

• Intends to sell firearms or certain firearms accessories through direct sales (e.g., private sales by individuals) or links to sites that sell these items. These accessories include but may not be limited to accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).
• Provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm, ammunition, high capacity magazine, homemade silencers/suppressors, or certain firearms accessories such as those listed above. This also includes instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities.
• Shows users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.
