[SHOT 2018] Archangel QBD Stock For NON-Takedown Ruger 10/22

The Ruger 10/22 Takedown is one of the best features Ruger has done to the Ruger 10/22. And after Magpul released their backpacker stock it added more features to the 10/22 Takedown and made it more of a backpack gun. Well wouldn’t it be nice if you could turn your regular 10/22 and turn it into a backpack gun?

Pro Mag just unveiled their latest Ruger 10/22 stock. The Archangel QBD (Quick Barrel Detach) Stock transforms your standard Ruger 10/22 into a takedown model. Huntertown Arms had explored this concept back in 2015 and they were going to partner up with Choate to make the stocks. Unfortunately that project never came to fruition. Well now Pro Mag is coming out with one.

The stock has a “toggle” that acts like a giant lever and locks the barrel in place rather than the traditional V block.

The stock is an under folder and locks up rather tight. I did not notice any perceptible slop in the stock. The FOLD button allows you to fold the stock in half. The latch just behind the FOLD button is what locks the barrel in place when stored.

You will notice the stock has a large channel that runs along the bottom. That helps to clear the trigger guard and even aftermarket mag releases.

When the stock is folded, it hooks onto a notch in the forearm right behind where the toggle lever is.

The stock is hollow and has some small compartments to store small items like ear plugs.

The Archangel QBD Stock will retail for $190 dollars and will be available in a couple of months. I would like to see MLOK slots or some way to attach a light and bipod to the QBD stock. As well as QD sling swivel sockets somewhere on the stock so you could still sling the 10/22 if you wanted to.
