I dropped my Surefire X300 in a pond and recovered it after it spent 14 months submerged in water. After the water level dropped, I waded out to where I thought I dropped it and used a magnetic pole to dig around. I finally found it and it still turned on. The battery compartment looked perfect and after some oil, the entire light looked like new.

I am a fan of SureFire flashlights and this is amazing. I wonder if it was salt water would the results be different? Other than the obvious rust on any ferrous materials like the steel hinge rod on the battery cap I doubt it would be affected by salt water. This is another testament to the quality of SureFire flashlights.
