Alliant Announces Improved Red Dot and Green Dot Propellants

    Red and Green Dot

Alliant Powder announced it would be releasing updated versions of its Red Dot and Green Dot powders in 2018. This announcement comes as the company gears up for the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

The new powders remain similar to the original formulation, but with improved characteristics.

According to Alliant Powder, the Improved Red Dot burns cleaner than the original. This reduces fouling in the gun. The powder’s structure is also said to be improved in such a way to improve the flow characteristics for more consistent metering. This powder is optimized for the 12 gauge shotgun and is made in the United States of America.

The Enhanced Green Dot is also supposed to burn cleaner than the original Green Dot powder. In addition to a cleaner gun, the powder is said to produce tighter shot patterns and reduce felt recoil. According to the company, this powder is ideal for handicap trap loads, though it is also an excellent choice for a range of field and target uses. The Enhanced Greed Dot is also made by Alliant Powder in the USA.

The company expects to begin shipping these powders later in the year. Both products will be available to reloaders in 1, 4 and 8 pound containers. Both powders will have a suggested retail price of $24.99 to $169.99 depending on the size of the container.
