NEW YEAR, NEW GLOCKS – 19X & Two More Gen5s Roll Out

Ringing in the New Year in true polymer style, three new GLOCKs have just been officially announced with U.S. consumer availability starting on January 22 – the first day of the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The highlight of the release is the 19X – GLOCK’s version of the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System (MHS) submission featuring a G19 length slide on a G17 sized frame, all dressed up in field dark earth (FDE).

The other two new GLOCKs being released are fifth generation versions of of already available pistols – the G26 subcompact classic and a competition focused G34 MOS, the company’s long-slide, optics-ready 9mm pistol. As with the first Gen5 announcements in August of last year, the latest models lack finger grooves, are finished in the new nDLC tennifer-like treatment, includes ambidextrous controls, and adds the new GLOCK Marksman barrel. The G34 MOS also receives the flared magwell also seen on the new Gen5 G19 and G17 models.

So, how do these new GLOCKs perform? Standby, TFB’s Adam S. will publish reviews of the 19X And G34 MOS in a matter of minutes. And TFBTV executive producer James Reeves has just published a video review of both pistols as well. A review of the new G26 model should go live on TFB and TFBTV in the next few days.

Stay tuned for any additional announcements or updates as the day progresses.
