Rosco Manufacturing recently announced it was now producing 9mm barrels for the AR platform. The new barrels are part of the company’s Blood Line series and are available in a range of sizes: 5.5″, 7.5″ and 14.5″. According to information released by the company, these barrels were designed to meet the needs of competition, self-defense and suppressor equipped guns.
These barrels are made of 4150 CMV steel. According to the company, Rosco Manufacturing uses a proprietary rifling and polishing technique that is followed by a salt bath nitride treatment. Presumably, this is a treatment similar to the Tennifer and Melonite treatments used by a variety of other companies to increase the metal’s resistance to corrosion.
All three of the barrel lengths have a 1:10″ twist. Additionally, each of them are threaded (1/2×28) and have a 11˚ crown.
When it comes to price, barrel length matters. The shortest of the bunch has a suggested retail price of $105. The 7.5″ barrel carries an MSRP of $115. For the longest barrel, the 14.5″ version, you will spend up and pay $140 at full retail.
Rosco Manufacturing is based in Rhode Island. The company offers a range of barrel products including options for 5.56 NATO, .223 Wylde and 300 BLK builds.
