Meridian Defence Corporation MDC-47 “VOLK” Rifle

Meridian Defense Corporation offers a new AK build called VOLK. The choice of parts and the overall layout of the rifle is really well thought out. If the AK is the weapon platform of your choice, then something like the VOLK rifle will be an ultimate all-around gun.

VOLK is built on Sharps Bros MB47 milled receiver which has a good reputation in the industry. The mentioned receiver has an integral AR-15 buffer tube mounting provision. The rifle also comes with a Magpul CTR stock and Magpul MOE AK grip. In the above image, it is shown with a US Palm grip, but it is possibly an older image. Meridian Defense confirmed that the rifles come with the Magpul grips shown in the image below. The US Palm is out of business and these grips are not made anymore.

The VOLK rifle also features an ALG Defense trigger, 4150 CMV (chrome-molybdenum-vanadium) black nitrided barrel chambered in 7.62x39mm and front sight/gas block combo. Another important feature is that it is a suppressor tuned platform. The company offers this rifle with Battle Comp BC51, MDC BD3 or Dead Air muzzle devices. VOLK also features an M-LOK handguard with a top Picatinny rail. The rifle comes in black, tungsten, FDE or OD green color options. It is possible to custom order other colors and camouflages.

The VOLK is available for preorder at $1,270. If you choose it to be equipped with a Battle Comp BC51, then the price will rise to $1,325. You can also order it to come with a Holosun HS503C optics which will add $120 to the price.

UPDATE: Apparently, the above mentioned price is only the 50% deposit. The final price is twice as much!
