SureFire have been awarded an additional contract to provide the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) with suppressors, muzzle breaks and blank firing adapters.

SureFire were first awarded the SOCOM suppressor contract back in 2011, when an indefinite quantity contract worth $23.3 million was awarded. A new contract worth $10 million has been awarded with a statement from SureFire announcing:

Fountain Valley, CA–SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest–and most innovative–illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane posted an award for a $10 million contract to SureFire for “SUPPORT/SUSTAINMENT FOR MUZZLE BRAKES, AND SOUND SUPPRESSORS IN SUPPORT OF THE MK13 MOD 7 SNIPER RIFLE, 10.3 AND 14.5 M4A1 UPPER RECEIVER GROUP (URG)”. This is the second award based on the most rigorous and extensive suppressor selection in USSOCOM history.

While the release does not state which suppressors will be purchased it is likely that SOCOM762-RC2 will be used with SOCOM’s Accuracy International .300 Win Mag Mk13 Mod 7 sniper rifles. While the 5.56x45mm M4A1 Upper Receiver Group will be paired with the SOCOM 556RC-2. The contract includes SureFire’s SOCOM muzzle break adapters that allows the the quick attachment of their SOCOM series of suppressors. The contract is expected to be completed by September 2022.

Surefire LLC, Fountain Valley, California, is being awarded a $10,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for production of muzzle brakes, sound suppressors, and blank firing adapters. Work will be performed in Fountain Valley, California, and is expected to be completed by September 2022. Fiscal 2017 working capital funding in the amount of $122,745 will be obligated at time of award and funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity (N00164-17-D-JN45).
