How low can the AR market go? Pretty darn low, apparently. A recent sale at Ground Zero Precision brought the price of their TAC-15M rifle down below $400 – Well below.

You’re seeing that right – knock a hundred dollars off as part of an early Christmas sale, and you’ve got a fairly current-looking carbine with an M-LOK rail priced below most milsurps!

It’s not uncommon in the current depressed market to see ARs in basic M4gery configuration dip one or two pennies below the $400 mark. Likewise, it’s now possible to build an AR-15 for a total cost in the mid-$300s using a cheap receiver set and a parts kit. However, this is the first factory free-floated modern carbine I have seen get anywhere near that low, and it shatters the $400 mark at a price of just $375.49 – about the cost of an LEO trade in Glock 22!

Of course, I have no idea what the quality of that rifle is – for all I know it could be a hunk of junk. You get what you pay for, after all. However, we are in the middle of the most depressed AR-15 market in history, and most manufacturers are at least aware of The Chart, so there’s a pretty decent chance that rifle in the bargain bin isn’t half bad!
