The Italian Firearms Group (IFG) recently announced that the company was importing the Iside line of shotguns that are made by Fabbrica Armi Isodoro Rizzini (F.A.I.R.) of Italy. The Iside line of smoothbores are all side by side shotguns. F.A.I.R. offers seven different versions of the Iside: from the standard model to the Prestige Tartaruga Gold.
All of the models share some basic features. For example, all of the guns can be purchased in 12, 16, 20, 28 gauges or .410 bore. Note that each gun is built with a steel frame specifically designed for that gauge. All guns use barrels and breeches made from a single piece of bored steel. According to the company, this helps to create a lighter shotgun without the need to use aluminum parts.
The guns vary on the amount of engraving, checkering and quality of woods used. Also, some models have manual extractors while others use automatics. As one might expect, the more detail in the finishing selected, the higher the cost. According to IFG, the MSRP of the guns starts at $1,475 and goes up to $6,000.
Fabbrica Armi Isodoro Rizzini is a gun manufacturer located in the Lombardy region of Italy. The company was founded in 1971 and manufactures a variety of sporting and hunting shotguns that include over-unders, side by sides and semi automatics.
IFG imports a variety of firearms made in Italy including those made by Pedersoli.
