Where the Generation 5 Glocks no include a concealed-carry ready flared magazine well, there are literally millions of handguns out there with the sharp and hard plastic edges of “perfection” (at least as it was defined for nearly three decades). Stock Glock magwells have certainly left something to be desired.

Fortunately, the polymer wizards over at Magpul have announced the release of their “GL Enhanced Magazine Well” for Generation 4 Glock handguns. While the texture of the grip was a significant improvement, Glock still left the magazine wells small on the Gen 4 – which I am now convinced was so that they would have something to “upgrade” on the Gen 5 weapons.

The new GL Enhanced Magazine Well looks to be compatible with all of Glock’s various palm swells, just at the cost of a small gap between the frame and adapter when using the base “small” frame. The same compatibility does not extend to all magazines and floor plates due to Glock’s variations over the years, but it will work with the vast majority including Magpul’s polymer Glock magazines.

Retail is set at $24.95, with the magazine wells available for purchase directly from Magpul and through their extensive dealer network.
