I thought I’d share some pictures of a local AK 7.62 Tokarev smg build that I saw recently in Lahore. The gun wasn’t in very good shape, had a 30 round mag and what looked to be a 10.5″ barrel with a modified A2 flash suppressor

I wish some company in the US would make these. A little AK in 7.62 Tokarev would make for a fun gun in Pistol Caliber Carbine division. Has anyone actually fired one of these little guns?

Fired one? Nope. I like having both of my hands.

The word “sketchy” definitely comes to mind.

      Nyet. SMG is fine.

Lol, that’s the impression I had when I saw it, but! apparently QC has started improving immensely since the guys at Darra started using more modern machinery etc, there was even a promotional video shared on this blog confirming the same.

True! I want a midget AK.

Get a Micro AK has a 7 inch barrel

Aren’t there 9x19mm AKs for sale in the USA, right now? One of those would be simple enough to convert to 7.62x25mm if you can’t manage a scratch build, and I bet there are a lot of gunsmiths who would be perfectly willing to do the conversion.

Definite Arms had the AKX-9, but I’m not sure they’re currently making them and I remember the prices being pretty high (something like $1,500). There’s also the Chiappa PAK-9, but I don’t think reviews have been exactly glowing.

I was really excited about kalashnikov usa vityaz, but I doubt we’ll see that anytime soon.

Short barreled rifle. Most likely machine gun too.

Have you called your congressman and senators today asking why they haven’t introduced legislation to repeal the NFA?

      • r h

about once a month how about you?

        • Audie Bakerson

Have you called your state reps to get them to introduce a resolution condemning US v. Miller as a corrupt show trial?

  • TrustMeIAmEngineer

That FH is from a G3.

    • d_grey

Hi! Thank you for verifying, I was under the impression it was a modified A2 FH when taking the pics.

good catch! totally an HK part.
too long to be an AR BC

I bet most of the 7.62x25mm cases in that area started life as 5.56x45mm NATO…

Also, yet another mini-AK. They really are fun looking, I keep thinking I should make one that uses easy to get (for US shooters) PPS mags. Leaving it as a locked action, starting out with a pistol and seeing if I like it enough to SBR… one of these days, I’ll get to that project.

    • d_grey

Actually no, 7.62x25mm bullets in the area came over in bulk quantity from the Afghan supply line during the first Afghan war and, are made in the border areas, also, the ammo for civilian use is also bought in from China and, I believe that the POF still makes it (not confirmed though).

      • PK

I’m sure a decent portion of it is newly/factory made, but I still think that a surprisingly quantity of the brass is originally 5.56 NATO. We’ve left a simply mind-boggling amount there, and it would be foolish to simply scrap it entirely.

        • d_grey

Well, could be a possibility, however I am aware that a lot of the 5.56 milspec ammo is available in gun shops locally and can be obtained, provided one knows the right people. War leaves behind greater messes than the one it hoped to solve. :/

Sure is nice if you need a distraction from domestic issues or own a well connected arms company, though!

interesting for what it is but no value as a production gun.
so many AKs with better rounds then the 7.62Tok
and so many better subgubs already eating that round
if im gonna vote for a new caliber AK to be made in the US id like to see an FN5.7 one or one in .243 winchester..
