Mosin Nagant 1891/30 Folding Stock from MBW Stocks

We recently wrote about MBW STOCKS from Poland and their Ruger 10/22 stock kit with parts from the AK47.

Founded in 2017 MBW Stocks have not been around for long, but they make wooden stocks for various firearms. They claim to be focused on quality and use only hand-picked, naturally dried wood and solid steel components. The old school look has been the target so far.

If you have Mosin Nagant 1891/30 you can fit their stock to your rifle.

It’s such a great product the manufacturer didn’t even bother to put up a pic with a barreled action installed.

    • Tim

‘Sactually the new Wonder Woman Mosin (TM) – invisible.

    • SGT Fish

I said the same thing about their 10/22 stock

  • A Guest

The 10/22 one was cool, but Mosin? STOP

    • Shankbone

Are you kidding? Countless Bubba’s and Jimbob’s just about split themselves in half with their right hands reaching for a hacksaw blade while the their lefts went for the once-forgotten Mosin in the back of the closet.

MBW needs to add the SKS, Mossberg 500, and the Mini 14/30!

      • Some Rabbit

ATI already makes a polymer top folder for the Mossberg 500 and it only costs $75.

        • iksnilol

          Polymer and top folder?

Do you even cheeki breeki, pleb? Git gud.

        • Shankbone

Top folder is not underfolder, which I understand doesn’t make sense on a pump. So, maybe for the 930?

  • Joe

I’d like to see a version for the SKS, but it’s really hard to get an idea of what we have without a firearm installed.

    • Shankbone

An SKS and Mini-14/30 would both LOOK badass in similar MBW stocks.

  • Major Tom

Nyet, rifle is fine. You don’t need no tactical stocks to chase off bears or intruders with a Mosin, just the pointy bayonet on the end and bullets in the mag. Bears really don’t like seeing the pointy bayonet.

  • PK

Stop reminding me about these, my Mosin SBR already won’t leave me alone…

    • iksnilol

Mate, you’ve got a Mosin SBR… this is just the natural progression.

Put a trench mag on it for bonus points and post it on TFB… pls.

      • PK

I have the original stock that was rotted, the one I cut down into a pistol. Then I had a stock offered to me that was cut just at the perfect spot, so I added the sights back on and popped it into the full stock, but I switch it back and forth.

But a folding stock? It could be so fun…

What’s this about an extended mag? Rifle is fine.

        • iksnilol

It costs 30 bucks, isn’t permanent and looks hella cool (+ 10 fireballs are better than 5, that’s a fact, Jack).

          • PK

Brand? I can invest $30, and of course post a picture or two.

I’m still thinking, as far as the folding stock goes. I might just make my own, I have enough parts laying around to do that with an underfolder stock and Mosin stock.

          • PK

            You’re a bad influence.

            In a good way.

          • iksnilol

            Wanna inject marijuanas after recess?

            ;=)

          • PK

Of course not! I heard about a guy who injected three whole marijuanas, and he DIED.

          • iksnilol

            Dude… that’s so square.

  • Jeff Smith

I hope that warranty covers your shoulder. I have a WASR underfolder and it’s not that comfortable to shoot after a magazine or two. I’m sure this is going to be a bruiser.

If you’re going to buy one, I suggest you pick up a UTG stock pad to go with it:

    • BrandonAKsALot

Underfolders are a love it or hate it thing. I personally love them, but I can see why some might not.

      • iksnilol

I use underfolders to weed out who I’d be friends with… Only sick, siiick people dislike underfolders.

      • Jeff Smith

I love mine. I use it a lot as a woods gun. I have a friend with some land and I often hike horse trails that require some maneuvering. With it slung across my back, I can very quickly swing it around and point shoot from the hip.

  • Some Rabbit

What every ‘prepper’ wants for Xmas. Even if they don’t have a Mosin, ya’ gotta be prepared ’cause ya’ never know when TEOTWAWKI dawns.

  • RocketScientist

Yes I know its pointless. And stupid. And ugly. And a sin. But I’ll be damned if I can’t get the image of an SBR’d Mosin in one of these out of my head.

  • Okay, this is objectively terrible, but it’s also perfect Alternate History LARPer gear, because you know the Soviets would have done this themselves if they’d though of it circa Stalingrad streetfighting. This really does look like it could have been an original issue thing.

  • retfed

What every Mosin Nagant needs is something that increases its recoil.
Let me jump right on that.

    • iksnilol

Put it on a Mosin with an 18 inch barrel and 10 round magazine.

  • BrandonAKsALot

I see someone figured out a use for all those extra Bulgarian underfolders.

  • Phillip Cooper

Why is this on TFB again?

  • Anonymoose

It would be better on an M44 or an M59.

  • Arie Heath

Hell, I’ve got a barreled action from a M59. Might have to give one of these a shot. It’s kind of concerning that they don’t have any pictures of the installed on rifles though.

  • HenryV

    Yes.

  • Ryfyle

Neeto. just what I want for my Nugget.

  • John Daniels

Cool. They found a way to make a Mosin recoil harder.

Also, that whole wooden stock part should be injection molded from long fiber glass reinforced nylon.

  • ToddB

I know some say the recoil would be bad, and yea it would. But shift to subsonic ammo, and a nice compact mosin would be pretty handy. Cut the barrel back, threaded for a suppressor. Will have to look into one of these stocks.
