New Rifle from HM Defense: The Avenger M308

    HM Defense Avenger M308

HM Defense announced the company is now building .308 Win rifles that use the same Monobloc technology the company uses on its .223/5.56 guns.

The new Avenger M308 is an AR-10 style rifle that has an 18″ Monobloc barrel. The Monobloc design incorporates a low profile gas block as part of the barrel during the machining process. This eliminates the need to align and solidly mount a separate block during the build process. According to the company, the Monobloc design offers “improved barrel harmonics for better accuracy. The block is set at the rifle length in this gun. The M308 barrel is made from 4150 steel and has a 1:10” twist rate. It is button rifled and considered to be match grade by the company.

Both the upper and lower are made from 7075-T6 aluminum and the lower is machined, not forged. The gun ships with a single, ten round Magpul magazine. The handguard is machined 6061-T6 aluminum with a Picatinny rail on top and Magpul M-LOK attachment points around the rest of the surface. The adjustable length stock is a HM Defense model and the Magpul MOE pistol grip is used.

This gun has an unloaded weight of about 8.9 pounds. It is being offered in black, FDE and tungsten color finishes. According to the company, the Avenger M308 has a suggested retail price of $1,895.
